Old
and the orphans are often need emotional support as they do not have persons
with whom they can share their joys and sorrows. Such emotional sharing would not
compensate for the riches one might possess. The feeling of ‘our’ is amiss in
the lives of orphans and old. The feeling of missing someone becomes immense
especially during the festive times. It only takes a big heart to spend time
with them and be a part of their story.
Srujanavani,
attempts to lighten the lives of the children and the old in a special way on
Deepavali and ensure that there is an extended family to lighten their
emotional burden. This year the Deepavali celebrations have been conducted at
Prema Samajam, Chodavaram and at Loyola Oldage Home. The YUvakiran scholars
have led from the front in making the event more memorable for the inmates and
for themselves in particular. Their interactions with the inmates has brought
smiles on the faces of the inmates. Nearly 50 Scholars celebrated the event along
with the children and the old.
